John Pocock
John Pocock has no desire to profit financially from painting - the satisfaction and pleasure it gives him are enough. However, he has, in recent years, been able to sell many paintings and complete numerous commissions, which has given him the added pleasure of being able to give all the proceeds of sale to charitable causes of his choice. He hopes to be able to continue to do this very much.
John Pocock’s paintings reflect a wide range of real scenes. Mostly represented in acrylics, they include local subjects, seascapes, portraits, buildings and a variety of landscapes. The emphasis is on true images with plenty of light and colour.

John Pocock is not a trained artist but has had a love of painting most of his life. Only in the last few years has he had an opportunity to give time to a hobby which has proved to be a great form of relaxation and also gives him a good deal of personal pleasure and satisfaction. He has been able to build his own studio at his home in central Cambridge and most of his spare time is now spent painting. He is a Chartered Surveyor by training and qualification and, although he has just reached retirement age, he is still employed full time in his own Cambridge business.
